Music Dept is based in NYC, NJ, and CT, but we are happy to travel throughout the US.

With over a decade of experience in the entertainment industry - managing partners, Sorab and Krishna - founded Shirose International in the fall of 2018 to bring something different to the private event landscape. We began in the entertainment space with similar notions based off of talent driving business decisions. What am I doing when I'm not djing? I love reading and learning new things, hiking, cooking, playing video games, chilling, playing sports, spending time with family and so on. And I absolutely LOVE meeting new people and building new relationships. After all that's what this business is all about. Building meaningful relationships and connections that can hopefully last for a lifetime.

Emily Simone is a classically-trained electric violinist, DJ and producer who has dazzled audiences internationally with her dynamic, impassioned and completely improvised live performances. Approaching dance music with an orchestral sensibility and the turntables as an instrument unto themselves, Emily solos along with whatever the DJ spins – from Rihanna to Reggae, deep house to dirty 90’s RnB -her sets are raw, electrifying and fun.

Jason Lyons started Lyons Entertainment in 1995 and his talented team of DJ's & Musicians have proudly served their clients' entertainment needs from the NY Tri-State Area to California! Although Weddings are their specialty, Lyons Entertainment provides entertainment appropriate for any event.

Victor James is a life-long resident of New Jersey. He attended St. Peter's University and NJIT where he acquired his Masters Degree in computer science. Victor is employed by the Department of Defense at Picatinny Arsenal. IKSounds Entertainment was created from Victor's love of music, dancing and bringing people together to have fun. Fabrika Latina Event Group has been providing personal service to the Tri-State Area (NJ, NY, LI & part of CT & PA) since 1995. With so many DJ services available for you to choose from, it might be difficult to select one that best suits your personal needs and lives up to your expectations. That's my goal. I take pride in my business and I want your Wedding, Anniversary Party, or other events to be special and memorable!

There is nothing quite like the elegance of strings. We recommend string groups for Wedding Ceremonies, Elegant Dinners, and Cocktail Hours. Whether it is the standard grouping of Violin, Violin, Viola and Cello or a hybrid ensemble with harp or guitar, our players are well versed in both classical and contemporary repertoire. We also have Electric String Quartets. Some clients opt to have the group play acoustic for the ceremony and switch to electric instruments for cocktail hour.

Our Hoppin’ John Steel Band performs Calypso, Soca, Reggae, Carnival, Belafonte, “Beach Music” and standard American selections as well. Instrumentalists in this group include steel drums (or “pans”) of various sizes, guitar, bass, drums, percussion, keyboard, horns, vocalists, limbo dancers and other specialists added for special occasions.

The Celtic Balladeers perform all styles of Irish and Celtic music. In the above sound clip they are captured live (VERY live) on St. Patty’s day at Coogan’s on Broadway. The sound clip features our guitar and tenor banjo duo while the complete band includes several other instrumentalists such as guitar, Irish tenor banjo, accordion, fiddle, bass, drums, bodhran, whistle, pipes, flute, mandolin, keyboard, horns, vocalists and dancers. Besides the standard, and county specific Irish material they can also perform a whole catalog of American dance music.

String 18 is a perfect trio for wedding ceremonies, cocktail hours, and dinners. Their repertoire includes Classic Rock, Contemporary Pop, Latin, Jazz, and Classical. With three acoustic guitars they create vibrant musical arrangements that range from the elegance of a String Quartet to the fire of the Gipsy Kings. There is almost no piece of music that they cannot perform, so this is a great ensemble for special requests.

Margot Varret is a uniquely gifted performer with both her voice and harp. As a native born French speaker she is expert in the repertoire of Chanson made famous by iconic artists like Edith Piaf and Charles Aznavour. She is also a fabulous classic jazz singer who renders the classics of the great American songbook with a signature French flair. She regularly sells out Birdland Theater leading her own group.

Erica Mancini is one of our top artists at Music Dept. She is a Chicago-land native, born to Argentine parents, who moved to New York City in 2009. Erica has performed as an accordionist, vocalist, and percussionist internationally and throughout the US. Her diverse repertoire includes Jazz, New Orleans Music, French, and German/Bavarian/Oktoberfest. Erica also loves to perform well loved pop songs which audiences would never expect to hear on Accordion. These songs range from 80’s pop anthems to Amy Winehouse covers.

“As an entertainer I play guitar, banjo, mandolin, ukulele, harmonica and sing. I know literally thousands of songs in several different styles, including multi-cultural and international songs in several different languages, when called for. My skill set is very high because this is my full time profession and has been my whole life. Not just a hobby. However, I don’t come to an event with the intention of playing every style I know. Instead I spend time with you in advance to determine exactly which styles, which eras and which songs you’d love to hear. And then that’s what I play. Plus I take requests right on the spot!

Instrumentalists in this group include guitar, violin, guitarron, charranga, trumpet, vocalists, DANCERS and other performers added for special occasions. Their Repertoire Includes: All the standard Mexican and Ranchero selections plus other general Spanish and Latin music. Available for parties, concerts, dances and in various combinations for smaller events. We can also add authentic Mexican Folkloric dancers.
