“As a bride, I feel it is my responsibility to be completely transparent with all future brides and their families when wanting to book someone as important as their photographer and videographer. That being said, I found Caitlin through Facebook chatter when I was planning my wedding, and although there were others that impressed me- Caitlin's work stood out the most. Her skills behind the camera made me truly believe in the beauty of the world, had me in awe of the uniqueness she found in others, and convinced me that she is the perfect fit for our big day.
I spoke to Caitlin for months before even booking our engagement photos, and when that day came, she showed me her skills in real time. Posing, correcting posture, finding the right balance of light, bringing props- she showed up and showed out big time. My fiance and I were both thrilled with how the photos came out, and were even more impressed that we liked the unedited versions too; you don't always get the best of both worlds when it comes to photographers who can make you look good in edited and unedited photos- but Caitlin did.
Her and I were in constant communication because being a bride isn't easy, and being indecisive runs right through all of us at every stage of planning, but she was a trooper and guided me through everything. I kept going back and forth on how long I should have her there, if we should do videography, where I wanted her for getting ready, etc. As someone who has never been married, it was nice having someone help me through the second biggest decision of my life.
When the wedding day came, she was there before I was, awaiting the gates to open to ensure she had enough time to get detail shots and getting ready photos. I didn't have a maid of honor or even bridesmaids, and my husband didn't have a best man or groomsmen, so it made the day easier too. However, Caitlin dedicated time to getting all of the pictures of us getting ready so that when the day was over and we could finally look back on our day, all of the moments were captured- even me doing my friends hair and having a mini panic attack over my dress being zipped. It was all there, because she ensured that our day was nothing but magic.
Our wedding wasn't what we intended it to be- there were supposed to be 45 guests and a majority dropped out, leaving our entire wedding and reception at 18 (including us). Our wedding wasn't as long as we had hoped, nor as grand, but Caitlin made sure we felt special and that nothing was left unseen or captured by her or her husband. Although our wedding ended two hours earlier than we wanted, Caitlin was beyond helpful and kind- never hesitating to give us a kind or encouraging word, and being so out-of-this-world generous.
