The sound clip features our guitar and tenor banjo duo while the complete band includes several other instrumentalists such as guitar, Irish tenor banjo, accordion, fiddle, bass, drums, bodhran, whistle, pipes, flute, mandolin, keyboard, horns, vocalists and dancers. String 18 is a perfect trio for wedding ceremonies, cocktail hours, and dinners. Their repertoire includes Classic Rock, Contemporary Pop, Latin, Jazz, and Classical. With three acoustic guitars they create vibrant musical arrangements that range from the elegance of a String Quartet to the fire of the Gipsy Kings. Margot Varret is a uniquely gifted performer with both her voice and harp. As a native born French speaker she is expert in the repertoire of Chanson made famous by iconic artists like Edith Piaf and Charles Aznavour. She is also a fabulous classic jazz singer who renders the classics of the great American songbook with a signature French flair. She regularly sells out Birdland Theater leading her own group.

In the 1950s & 60s, The Bronx was home to an amazing photographer that captured weddings and family events. His name? Warren Meurer aka the “Silverfox” (due to his flowing silver and gray locks). Fast forward to the early 1990s, Warren’s grandson, John Salkowsky, decided to follow in his grandfather’s footsteps and open a wedding photography and video studio. I know literally thousands of songs in several different styles, including multi-cultural and international songs in several different languages, when called for. My skill set is very high because this is my full time profession and has been my whole life. Not just a hobby. However, I don’t come to an event with the intention of playing every style I know. Instead I spend time with you in advance to determine exactly which styles, which eras and which songs you’d love to hear. And then that’s what I play. Plus I take requests right on the spot!
