Other photographers seemed to have a lot of strange angles and washed out colors, which we were trying to avoid. Hiring Maria was a breeze. She is responsive by email and always happy to jump on a call when needed. Part of her package included engagement photos, which were extremely helpful when putting together our save the dates and website. She is intuitive, yet also did a good job of asking us for our preferences to confirm. The wedding day was also a breeze, and Maria documented all of our key moments without being intrusive at all. Maria’s turnaround times are excellent, and she was never late with delivering sneak peeks or the digital albums. Finally, we also worked with Maria on the final physical photo album. She was very flexible and allowed us to have multiple rounds of revisions. She was very accommodating even when we wanted to swap out many photos for more preferred variations. It was a lot of work and Maria did not hesitate to help us develop the perfect album. “I don’t even know where to begin — Mike was a highlight of our wedding experience from the time of booking to even now after our wedding has wrapped up. He is a class act, someone who really listens and values you, not just as a client but as a person. We left each call being so appreciative of his kindness (something that can often be left out in the wedding industry) and in awe of his talent/wedding expertise. He helped us curate an amazing reception flow and welcomed our ideas with open arms. Walking into our cocktail hour to his live acoustic set is something I’ll never forget. Our guests were amazed! From our dinner playlist, he shuffled the perfect variety of our favorite songs it had me in tears the entire time. How he handled our announcements and all MC-ing throughout the evening was like nothing I’d seen photographing weddings over the past 5 years — a complete contrast to the flashy, showy MC taglines that feel like you’re being announced into a boxing arena, lol. That wasn’t for us and that also isn’t Mike’s style. We felt like the guests of honor and like each of our planned dances were equally as important to him that they went smoothly and were a special moment for our families. For example, my dad was nervous for his welcome toast and asked for a microphone on a stand instead of handheld. I watched Mike’s assistant literally *run* out to their car and back to accommodate in record time. The dance floor was packed and the songs Mike chose from our playlist were a perfect balance of the genres we love. Mike checked in with us about song/vibe suggestions and was the best advocate for what *we* wanted all day long. (This is the impact of getting to know your clients well!) At the end of the night, Mike organized our remaining guests into an exit tunnel following our private last dance and it was the best way to end the night. While we didn’t want the party to end, we will ALWAYS recommend Mike wherever we can so we can enjoy his talents again. After the wedding Mike sent us a collection of videos and photos he took throughout the day and we will always cherish them. He also wrote us the most thoughtful card and a gift that again, brought me to tears. Last thing - a little thing that might go overlooked - his equipment, lighting and set up, are SO good. Very tasteful set up and the light effects took the party to the next level. Ok! I could go on and on! But I’ll leave with this THANK YOU, Mike and your team for every little thing. “Where do I even begin? When my husband & I first started wedding planning, we weren't even certain if videography was a must-have for us. But after a recommendation from our (equally brilliant) photographer and viewing about 30 seconds of one of their videos - which promptly reduced me to tears in the middle of work- I knew The Neskes would be a can't-live-without vendor for us. The Neskes create magic. They are somehow able to distill hours into minutes and seconds, capturing each couple's individual story, raw emotions and sheer joy. Every video is so uncannily representative of each couple, you feel you know their entire journey; they are somehow able to make each video distinct, yet so undeniably representative of the Neskes' unique style. Their videos are actual cinematic works of art - they capture that sensation of seeing flashes of your life as if you're watching your own life story on the big screen. From the carefully selected music that somehow seems to describe your innermost feelings, to the rapid bursts of moments - looks, laughter, tears, cheers, unbridled celebration - that makes up your day, there is so much raw talent and passion that goes into their work. Seeing our teaser trailer mere days after our wedding brought back all those sweeping feelings we felt that day, so much so that we replayed that video well into the night. “Lauren Renee Photography. Gosh. I have no idea where to start. Lauren is magic. She has a gift, and she uses it to BECOME a gift to her couples. Lauren is KIND. She sent a gift when we first booked her. She cared when we had to postpone our wedding. She offered to do an engagement session on what would have been our wedding day, and then she made what could have been a sad day such a wonderful day still worth remembering nevertheless. After postponing our wedding, we were sad. “COVID brides” seemed to have obstacle after obstacle stacked against them, but Lauren made us excited for our wedding again and so optimistic that whatever it ended up looking like would be perfect. She makes you feel comfortable, confident, and beautiful. If you don’t love the camera, she will make you. If you don’t love yourself, she will show you your most beautiful you. She did that for me, and I would recommend her with every ounce of energy in me so other brides can feel that, too. Please, do not hesitate to book Lauren. You WILL NOT regret it. Her team is also incredible and SO kind. My dress and veil were.... a lot.... and not once did they hesitate to fix it and make sure everything was perfect all day. My team of DJs and I truly appreciate it. A little background on who I am and what sets Frederick DJs apart from the rest. Starting as a DJ as a kid, yes, a kid of only 14! I took a huge interest in the entertainment industry. It started a little before then, but that’s when I got into DJing. I fell in love with playing music for others while working at a roller-skating rink. (Wisconsin Sk8 University) I later moved on from the roller rink where I became a DJ assistant for a solo DJ who specialized in weddings. Let’s just day that gave me a whole new love for the job.

“We recently had Robert DJ our June wedding. Pros were that he was on time and friendly. He handled little hiccups smoothly and w/o complaint. Prices are reasonable and he offers a lot of services, like ceremony recordings and fun add-ons. He really can be a one-stop shop for a lot of wedding entertainment. While I think he is a good all-purpose DJ, I'm not sure that he was the right fit for us in the end. Specifically our two biggest concerns were that 1) he didn't consistently use the language we had asked him to use to address guests and 2) communication leading up to the wedding was less organized than I would have preferred. In our case, we really prioritized communicating with vendors about our desire for an affirming, somewhat non-traditional wedding. From the onset when we hired vendors, we asked about comfort and experience working with a diverse range of guests and requested that vendors be attentive to using inclusive language, especially as it relates to including LGBTQ folks. In the case of DJ services, we requested he not use gendered language like "ladies and gentlemen" due to the gender diversity of our guests. We also had an integrated wedding party so we weren't using some of the traditional wedding party language. I get that this is a specific and maybe unusual request, so we wanted to be really sure our vendors were okay with it, and Robert was super friendly and agreeable when we talked about it. I think Robert's intentions were really good here -- he expressed a lot of desire to make sure he got this right and willingness to be careful. Maybe those requests were made too long ago though, because when we got to the day of, we had a lot of issues here. Our coordinator had to talk to him about using less gendered language, which did not seem to result in much improvement (there was definitely effort...at one point he said "ladies and....guests....esteemed guests" but then he went right back to "ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls"), and it was really frustrating for both us and her. He also told us we'd have a ceremony recording the day after. There was really no rush, but that was what he told us would happen. Instead, we got the recording a week later than he had originally stated, and we were not told it would be delayed until I asked twice. I think it's also worth noting that the ceremony recording did not include the music for procession and recession. (This is on us, we should have confirmed that would be included, but it was disappointing) Communication tended to be a little last-minute and unscheduled -- e.g., spontaneous phone calls rather than putting something on the calendar. Followups were sometimes required. He also texted me (bride) the morning of asking if he could bring an assistant and requesting we add a meal for that additional person. Not a big deal, but I do wish he would have communicated in advance/not while we were all trying to get ready. Otherwise, I thought/heard feedback that some of the music transitions were a bit awkward, but not to an extent that was too disruptive. None of these are big issues, but the multitude of small communication inconveniences and frustrations did add up to where I would not feel comfortable recommending Frederick DJs to a friend. Robert is nice, but I'm not sure he was the right call for our needs. He might be a better fit for someone else, particularly if you are looking to include a number of add-ons and want to use one, reasonably-priced company”

From the start, it was never just a business transaction; it felt like family helping to prepare for the big moments in life. Her warmth and genuine care meant everything to us. I don’t know what I did to be so lucky to have crossed paths with this amazing team, but I am forever grateful that we did. I honestly feel like I should keep them on retainer for every milestone in life because I cannot imagine anyone else being able to document such meaningful moments with the care and dedication they do. Choosing them was one of the best decisions we made, and we couldn’t recommend them more highly! Jerome and I are so grateful for the both of you.”
