“WOW!! That's what first comes to mind when we think about what it was like to work with Kylee. Also, we should note here that this review is going to be long because we love her and loved working with her so much. When we were exploring photographers, it was really important to us that not only was it important to have beautiful photos, but also that we'd be able to work with someone who we'd want to hang out with and even someone we'd be happy to invite to our wedding. Before even meeting with Kylee, we loved how clear it was (via her website) that she has a killer personality, and also that she puts her couples' personalities in the spotlight. When we had our initial consult with her, the first half was really just chatting about little nuggets we'd put in the inquiry questionnare - aka, learning we shared a massive love of board games with Kylee, and also that we 100% want to be friends with her in the real world. Her follow up email wasn't even just a "hey, will you be booking me?" - in fact, it had nothing to do with that, but rather her asking for board game suggestions for an upcoming trip. Beyond shared interests, Kylee made us feel super informed about her process, and we got some really great wedding planning tips from her. We also wanted to make sure we worked with people who we felt comfortable asking questions to, as people who tend to feel a little worried about potential confrontation. When we had a question about how some of our wedding color choices might resonate in Kylee's aesthetic, she was not only extremely compassionate in her answer, but also was SUPER informative in a way that was fully digestible by non-photography experts. It was actually this specific exchange that made us book her. Kylee is probably one of the most unique vendors we partnered with because she truly builds a community - she hosted an open house to connect couples both past and present, and is open about how much of a human she is in a way that really resonates. Kylee is game for everything. We love to bike ride and wanted to include our bikes in our engagement shoot, and Kylee was immediately game for it. When we told her we have a signature pose that is...not romatic, Kylee was totally game. In fact, she remembered this on the wedding day and incorporated it into our shotlist at various points without us having talked about it. But let's talk about the wedding day. Kylee and her second photography (Tiffany!!!) had to travel a number of hours for our wedding, which we're sure was not fun, and if that was the case, Kylee didn't let it show at all. She was really such a joy to be around. She commanded peoples' attention when she needed to, and also easily blended herself in to fully capture candids easily. We got so many compliments from our family and wedding party about how awesome Kylee was. Something we really loved when we'd first met with Kylee was learning that her favorite part of a wedding is the dancing (because that's our part too), and we took some specific joy in getting to break it down with her at our wedding. Kylee's photography is second-to-none and insanely beautiful, but really she's one of the greatest people we've met throughout the wedding journey. She's professional, she's thorough, she's really freaking fun, and we're so lucky we got to spend an entire day with her. You really won't regret with working with her!!”

“Hiring Mike as our wedding DJ was one of the best decisions we made!! From our first meeting, Mike was professional and friendly, providing us with a lot of information and answering all of our questions. After we booked with him, he set up an easy-to-use app for us to select our songs, write notes about the reception, and communicate any special instructions. It helped us keep track of what to prepare and how to plan the timeline of our day since we didn't have a wedding planner. Mike also came to an in person meeting with our venue so he could be prepared for the wedding day, and he was completely set up and ready when we arrived for cocktail hour and dinner. “I seriously can’t put into words how amazing she was and cannot recommend her enough. She was great to have around on our wedding day and I am so happy with our photos. The groomsmen didn't have their act together, even though she provides a detailed schedule, and she was totally chill about it and was like no biggie I'll be back in 30. My fiancé commented on how awesome she was (didn't comment on any other vendors) and one of his groomsmen did too (see first pic). This was before we even saw the pics and they turned out better than I could have imagined. At one point I told her I was done taking pics I wanted to go talked to people and dance, so was a little worried if we got enough shots, but was blown away with the results. I also told her I didn't care that much about getting ready pics but wanted a lot of guest candids and she delivered. She also got way more getting ready pics than I even expected. We didn't want to spend money on a second photographer and she was fine with that and got all the pics we wanted on her own. She truly listened to what we wanted and was incredible at communication and organization. On top of that, she is one of the sweetest people I’ve ever met, and truly a calming presence during all of the chaos on wedding day. I feel sooo lucky we found her.”

The short version: if you want a photographer who goes above and beyond and is extremely talented, professional, responsive, helpful, reliable, kind, and accommodating, you absolutely need to hire her. The detailed version: We first met Annemarie when we did our engagement shoot, exactly a year before our wedding. The shoot was a wonderful experience thanks to her--she had so many creative ideas of where to get the perfect pictures, she gave clear directions that made us feel comfortable and at ease, and in between pictures she was wonderful and lovely to talk to. She never made us feel rushed, and even went to a second location with us to shoot more pictures. She sent us an entire gallery full of gorgeous pictures within a few weeks. As our wedding approached, she reached out consistently to check up on us, and created a detailed timeline and shot list for our day--following up and responding at any and all times with extremely useful suggestions. One day, our coordinator scheduled a very last minute venue walk-through which was not necessary to attend; we reached out to Annemarie with absolutely no expectation of her attending (less than 24 hours notice) and she immediately responded that she would be there. At the walkthrough, she again provided us with so much wonderful advice and helpful suggestions, and scoped out the entire venue with me to get ideas of where she would take pictures. On the day of our wedding, she made the day run seamlessly--providing guidance, and making sure everyone was in the locations and sticking to the schedule. She has a very calming presence, which is super useful on such a hectic day full of activities. She also brought an assistant and a second shooter with her--the three made a wonderful team that captured every important moment. I realized suddenly that I really wanted to extend Annemarie's time with us at the wedding, and was panicked because I hadn't thought to extend the contract. I pulled her aside and she immediately reassured me that she would stay and not to worry. Our wedding ended Saturday at midnight--we had a beautiful preview of our photographs by Monday morning, and our full gallery a few weeks later. We would recommend Annemarie to absolutely anyone getting married--you need the best vendors for your most important day (and arguably, photographers are one of the most important vendors), and she's simply the best.”

We went through all family intro pronunciations and he double checked with everyone the day-of to make sure everything was correct. He worked with our day-of coordinator to ensure the timeline was correct and everything ran smoothly. We gave him a few spotify playlists that he stuck to very well, with a few additions that were perfect. He read the room very well and everyone had a great time - kids, adults, and older relatives. The midnighters were super easy to work with! They performed for both our ceremony and cocktail hour. They have a long list of songs they are able to play for the procession and recession, and learned one song from scratch for us - a song they had never played before - and it sounded amazing. We heard so many rave reviews from our guests about how great they were. We would highly recommend both of these artists and BVTLive! as a whole.”

“As you’ll come to see with vendors, not all of them are very responsive, Barbora was always responsive no matter what time I texted her and had a question to ask her prior to the wedding. She’s punctual (something I care a lot about), she’s very organized (had a timeline and stuck to it) she is also very reliable so that made me comfortable. On the wedding day, she was a delight to be around. She worked so so hard. I literally got to a point where I had to remind her to go have her meal. She took what I thought were beautiful pictures. I wanted spontaneous and organic pictures and she captured just that. I am very awkward in front of the camera (and so is my husband), she helped direct us and made us comfortable. I also wanted pictures in front of the DC monuments, as you can imagine they’re crazy busy on the weekend but she managed to direct us along with the rest of our group and took some of the most beautiful photos (I thought). What I valued the most about Barbora is that it felt like she genuinely cared. It wasn’t a job that she had to go to, she really enjoyed what she was doing.”
