Our historic event venue in Springfield has a distinctive and beautiful architectural design which is the perfect balance of vintage character, with an intimate vibe. This unique 2 story building features exposed trusses and wood beams, a huge candelabra chandelier, carved stone fireplace, large circle headed front windows, mezzanine balcony, imported quarry tile, palm modeled plaster walls, and many other original architectural elements.

An area once reserved solely for the practical application of aging beers, and on occasion for private beer dinners, we opened up this space for guests to host private events such as ceremonies, receptions, showers & rehearsal dinners. Construction on the Lake Springfield Postal Club began in the early 1940s. Post office employees donated over 50,000 hours on weekends, evenings and days off to complete the building. A team of horses and a sliding bucket were used to dig out the basement. The Postal Club officially opened in 1948. The total construction cost was approximately $15,000. In 2005, there were only two of the original Postal Club members left. In 2000 the Postal Club merged with the Springfield Firefighters Local 37. In 2001 the firefighters burned down the original Postal Club to make way for a new building. The new club was completed in 2002. The total construction cost was $3.6 million. The clubhouse is surrounded by 5 acres of woods, with boathouses, docks, beaches, parking lot, sidewalks, bandstand, and much more.
