Amy started working as a grocery store floral designer in 1991. Amy then went on to get a plant science degree from the University of Delaware. Amber, (being 8 years younger than Amy) had no choice but to learn how to design flowers when Amy opened a flower shop in 2000. The shop closed after Amy moved. The Shrewsbury String Quartet has been playing together since 1999 and performs at over 200 weddings and corporate events each year. We offer a wide repertoire consisting of lighter classical selections, show tunes, Beatles and popular music. We have an extensive repertoire of liturgical music from the Catholic, Protestant and Jewish faiths. We get many compliments on the way we sound and we hear from a lot of brides that they appreciate how easy we are to work with. I have always baked. Even as a young girl, I was passionate about coming up with new yummy recipes for family and friends. Art and design have been a big part of my life as well. Inspired by my talented mother and artist uncle, I found myself surrounded by creativity. I have been known to even use the walls of my home as a canvas. When I began to blend my love for baking and my love for design I found my true love - cake design. I relish in the look on someone's face when they see one of my cakes but even better yet when they taste the delicious confection.

I bought my first 35mm film camera at a flea market when I was in high school. With that old Pentax K1000, I took my first film photos and learned how to transfer what I saw through the lens into a frozen moment captured in a photo. From the start, I've always kept my focus on people. I love to capture someone laughing, or the way parents engage in the wondrous curiosity of their kids, or simply someone just looking back at me. Photography isn't just something I do, it's an extension of the way I see the world.
