Israeli ceramicist Yaara Nir Kochlon has created an exclusive collection of useful ceramic objects for the Jewish Museum Shop. For the collection, she incroporates her signature style of words or phrases stamped onto each piece. Crafted in Yaara's northwestern Negev, Israel studio, the grouping is produced in a creamy white finish that has a silky lightweight feel, but is durable for use in the oven, microwave and dishwasher. The Land of Milk and Honey Serving Set features this title phrase centered on the large platter. The phrase suggests a land that is abundant and fertile and is used in the Bible to describe Israel. The set is intended by the artist for use on Rosh Hashanah for dipping apples into honey and includes a smaller bowl to hold honey. The large platter is perfect for apple slices. Yaara believes, "we should enjoy the simple things in life, but never in an ordinary way," which makes this set a wonderful holiday piece for sharing tradition and beginning a sweet New Year. Made in Israel. Exclusively available at the Jewish Museum Shop.
