The town of Hvar, on the homonymous island, is the oldest tourist center of Dalmatia, rich in historical monuments and interesting to a visitor. A visit to the 16th century Theatre, the 13th century Arsenal, or the central town square with the, Cathedral surrounded by numerous palaces built in different architectural styles, all of it only completing the picture. The Franciscan monastery in the town is known for its collection of works of old masters, including the Last Supper by Ingoli.
