You might notice we don't have too many housewares on our registry. Well, we have big plans for 2021 (hello, wedding!), and purchasing our first home is one of them! We can't wait to put down roots in Portland, and we would love your support to help furnish our home. When Lauren isn't dragging Colin through a thrift store to look for housewares, they're plotting to rearrange the living room, bringing in a new plant, or DIYing a set of pillows for the office chair. We love taking care of and decorating our home (yes, even our bitty apartment) and are so excited for the day we can do so in our very first house!

For a while, Colin was in the clear. Lauren only drank tea, and he was free to enjoy his coffee in peace. But unfortunately for him, she has returned to the world of coffee and is now draining away his precious bean-resources one morning at a time. We had a subscription to Trade Coffee for the first few months of this year and absolutely LOVED it. The subscription introduced us to coffee and coffee brands we'd never tried and we would be so excited to be able to continue!

Cars aren’t used often on Madeline Island, so riding bicycles is the best way to get around! The big adventure of our honeymoon will be the 5-Hour Devils Island Boat & Kayak Tour! This tour includes a motorboat and kayak to travel around and see the sea caves around the Apostle Islands! What could be more romantic than a morning picking blueberries in nearby Bayfield!? One of our favorite ways to spend time together is cooking a meal in the kitchen. When we first moved to Portland, we worked in the lucrative "pizza delivery" and "nanny" industries, so furnished our pots and pans set from the thrift store. Seven years and many meals later, we're basically using the exact same ones. We'd love to commemorate our special day with a cookware set we can use in the kitchen together, for the rest of our lives!

If there is one thing that unites our different tastes in food...it is a smoothie. Wow, do we love smoothies. This sounds like a joke...but it is deadly serious. Though, on an even more serious note, Lauren feels it is a grave offense to add peanut butter into a smoothie and Colin feels the opposite. The pattern continues. Help us live our smoothie dreams.

Let us tell you a story. For close to five of the six years we've lived in our carpet-filled apartment, we did not realize that we owned a vacuum that only worked on hardwood floors. To be honest, we just thought we got a really good deal on a vacuum. In 2019, when the floodgates of Argus pet hair opened, we realized that something was very, very wrong, and headed off to Target to buy the second-cheapest vacuum they sold. Needless to say, vacuuming up five years of dirt in one "go" was a real eye-opener for us...and we've never looked back. We vacuum religiously (don't be afraid of our house) and hope to ascend to the Dyson Eschelon of vacuum-appreciators.

If there's one thing we've learned about the housing market in Portland, it's that we're going to need to put on our boots and get to work fixing up at least part of our new home! And while we've got a makeshift bucket (literally, a bucket) of random tools, we'd love an official toolset to get us started on the right foot in our first house.

If the coffee subscription on the registry didn't already give this away, we love a cup of pour-over coffee. We drink a cup every morning and this is our dream kettle! Not only is it functional and beautiful, but it keeps the heated water the *exact* right temperature for up to an hour! This is top-tier coffee luxury.
