While JP is inseparable from his trusty cast iron skillet and Holly makes a mean casserole, there are some dishes that really do cook up best in a stainless steel clad pan. This set comes with all the stainless pots and pans we need—and, surprisingly uniquely, nothing we don't—and brings great ergonomics and a build quality that should last a lifetime of good meals and deserts, all at an honest price. We especially can't wait to make real-deal homemade butterscotch from scratch for our special pecan pie!

One need not look twice to see that mirrors come in handy. Not only do they provide the observer with the lovely image of their face, but they also serve to add dimension to an otherwise empty wall - and potentially the illusion of more space to a small room. This mirror in particular was selected for the simple elegance of its classic round shape.

Ok... so JP takes his kitchen knives VERY seriously. He even hand-sharpens them on a real-deal Japanese whetstone. Because chopping things should be fun, not a chore. But do you know what's not fun? A cutting board that runs out of room, dulls the blade, and even warps or cracks. This particular cutting board came highly recommended by America's Test Kitchen, and we'd love to give it a shot! (or rather, a chop!)

We've been looking at getting into pressure cooking for quite some time. This model was well-reviewed by one of our favorite site (SeriousEats.com), and we appreciate the robust build and the level of control this cooker offers!

It only takes a second to note that large antique-style clocks are pretty cool. Not only do they provide the observer with the time, but they also serve to add charm and character to an otherwise empty wall. This clock in particular was selected for its resemblance to an old fashioned pocket watch.

We have selected this trash can in an effort to be both more eco-friendly and more space-efficient. The larger side of the can would be used for recycling, which accounts for the majority of the waste we discard. But, when we do have regular ol' trash that has no alternative destiny but the landfill, it can be disposed of in the same unit - just the smaller side.

Whether we're eating chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream (with homemade caramel sauce, mind you), rainbow sherbet, or non-dairy strawberry Rice Dream, a solid ice cream scoop is a must to ensure that delicious frozen scoops make their way safe and sound onto our taste buds.

Holly looks forward to using this bundt pan to bake up simple but tasty and elegant cakes. Fun fact: our wedding cake will be made up of two bundt cake tiers surrounded by several ity-bity bundt cakes!

Over the last few years, we have both become more eco-conscious. From that perspective, we both feel much more comfortable with multi-use washable fabric napkins rather than disposable paper ones. This neutral color will pair nicely with casual weeknight dinners and fancier celebrations alike.

The house that will be our first together unfortunately does not have a pantry closet, so we want this cabinet to hide away all our fair trade chocolate, legit olive oil, hike-ready protein bars, Nilla wafers, and hot fudge sundae PopTarts.

We wouldn't say we're big wine drinkers, but we do like to sip on the occasional bottle, especially if it has a story to tell. These wine glasses are a bit smaller than average, which we prefer, and without the stem, we hope these will hold up a bit better to day-to-day life in the hands of two everyday klutzes :P

We all need a little pyro-therapy from time to time, am I right? Cozy fall nights around a fire, roasting marshmallows, talking with friends and family, losing ourselves in peaceful music... yes, please! Oh, and s'mores, all the s'mores!

Imagine the following scenario: Holly is nearly asleep taking a nap on the couch (cat may or may not be on top of her). Suddenly, a story idea pops into her head that she must write down / type out -- and quick! Cue a role of this nifty couch companion table: it can function as a regular side table, or it can be easily moved to the front of the couch where it can be used as a desk by hobby novelists like Holly when inspiration strikes in a comfy location.

This one might seem a little odd—a lot of American home chefs and bakers still prefer to use cup measurements, which do have their place—but we've come to appreciate the accuracy and repeatability that weight-based measurements bring to the table. Ok, fine, we're both nerds...guilty as charged. But at least we're nerds who can bake up a tasty snack! The size, weight capacity, and pull-out display on this model open up even more possibilities for bigger baking projects, which we can't wait to tackle!

A salt what? Okay, hear me out. I started keeping an old little bowl of kosher salt by my stove, and it's been a total game changer for seasoning my food as I cook! Once I got a feel for it, getting the right amount of seasoning became so fast and easy. I like that this one can be covered when I'm not cooking—which means it'll keep Holly's curious kitten out of the salt! – JP

JP's 8-inch lodge cast iron skillet has been his trusty companion right from the beginning of his cooking journey. He'll keep that pan till the day he dies, but sadly, it's sleek and compact nature means it doesn't feed very many hungry mouths. This 10" skillet should do just the trick, and provide a lifetime of weeknight comfort food for two for years to come.

Mid-way through our relationship we started exploring the outdoors and have loved bonding during our many day hikes since then. Once we're married, we can't wait to take on bigger overnight adventures. We were torn between this model and the Nemo Dragonfly 2, which are both very well reviewed, and either would keep us dry and cozy on our outdoor nights for years to come.
