(see donation instructions below) YCC is where Gerben got to fulfill his childhood dream of being a park ranger! The people, the place, and the work really left a mark on him, and the program does the same for many young people every summer. There is no faster way to become an advocate for a place then spending time working there in a tight-knit community. Gerben is thankful for the mentors, friends, skills, and memories from YCC, and Ian feels grateful for some incredible visits to Yellowstone too! We're excited to live so close to the ocean and some amazing rivers. We're hoping to spend time kayaking and camping along the Maine coast.

Portland Paddle is a 4 minute walk from our new home, and we're excited to learn more about sea kayaking and how to do it safely.

We love maps! Especially big ones, and what better way to get to know our new home than having a giant map hanging on the wall?

We like to go on outdoor trips, and there isn't always cell reception. These satellite devices are great for calling for help in an emergency.

Ultimate players - if this seems fun to you, we'd love it. Ideally a turf kit (poles plus buckets filled with sand), but we'd take a grass kit too!

Ian and I have been members of a year-round CSA (Community Shared Agriculture farm) for several years (so many root veggies in the winter!) Now that we're in Maine, we're looking for a new farm to join, but we really look forward to eating more local vegetables.
