Some of our dearest friends and their family members have recently been diagnosed with different forms of cancer. Some are in remission, others are currently in the midst of chemo treatment, and some have left us too soon. The IRC is a global humanitarian relief NGO, which provides both emergency aid as well as long-term assistance to refugees. Lee had the honor of interning at the IRC in college, and has been a proponent of the organization ever since. We've become avid road cyclists and cycling fans, and even made a trip to France last year to cycle a couple category 1 Tour de France climbs and watch a stage of the TDF. North Carolina has a ton of farm roads for serious road cycling, so we're hoping to trade our fixies for some robust road bikes!

We're planning to island hop around another archipelago: the British Isles! We hope to hike, bike, and pub (and McDonald's) hop from London to Edinburgh to Galway City.
