Our trip to Italy is going to involve a lot of walking around as we travel from city to city, and we think that backpacks will enable us to be more maneuverable than normal suitcases. We also enjoy hiking and camping, so we will likely use them in the future for camping trips too! Kathryn likes the "Huckleberry" color.

Fondue has always been a nice treat for us, and it now holds extra special meaning, since Jonathan proposed at The Melting Pot (a fondue restaurant).

We love playing board games together and with friends. We recently purchased a different game by this same designer, and we really enjoyed it, so we're curious to try this one as well!

We're used to traveling on a budget, but that often means restraining ourselves from extra treats like dessert or drinks. A little extra spending cash would allow us to be less thrifty and treat ourselves to things like this delicious-looking cannoli.

Murano and Burano are small islands off of Venice. Murano is known for its glass-making, and Burano is known for its lace-making, as well as its colorful houses. Both are supposed to be a good way to get out of the hustle and bustle of the main city and to experience more of the normal daily Venetian lifestyle.

What trip to Europe is complete without experiencing culture? We are looking forward to this "dinner and opera" experience. The opera concert is held in the 15th-century Santa Monaca Church, which sounds like a very intimate setting, with only about 50 audience members.

We have been enjoying gardening and landscaping the backyard of the house that we bought together at the end of 2021. We love going to our local plant nursery to get new plants for it. This fund will help get us some extra plants to enjoy in our backyard sanctuary!

Apparently "trattorias" are a good place to sample traditional local cuisine at a reasonable cost, so these are probably where many of our dinners will be!

Doge's palace was originally the Doge of Venice's residence and the seat of the Venetian government. Now it is open to the public... For a fee of course!

We haven't selected a specific hotel yet, but from what we've researched, it seems like we'll likely be able to find a reasonable place for around 250 a night.

This will get both of us single day passes to ride the vaporetti (the public transportation ferries of Venice). We plan to use them to visit some of the nearby islands.

This high-speed train will get us from Venice to Florence in just over 2 hours, and we'll be treated to lovely views of the countryside along the way!

We've heard great things about street food in Italy, and we can't wait to try it!

At only two nights (as opposed to 3 in Venice and 3 in Rome), Florence will be our shortest hotel stay... Consequently, we decided to splurge a little on a slightly classier place... When we saw the garden at the Monna Lisa hotel we just couldn't help ourselves. It looks so peaceful and private, yet it's within walking distance to all of the places in the city that we intend to visit!

We'll look for reasonably-priced dinners for most of our trip, but it would be nice to treat ourselves to a few fancy restaurant romantic dinners... It is our honeymoon after all!

This high-speed train will take us directly from Florence to Rome in just over an hour and a half and will give us some lovely views of the countryside along the way!

A guided tour will allow us to skip the line outside the colosseum, and past visitors seem to highly recommend tours if you want to learn about the history while you're there, as there isn't much information posted for those walking through on their own. The tour we have our eye on will also allow us access to the arena floor, which is not something that you get with a basic entry fee.

We haven't settled on a specific hotel yet, but it seems that if we shop around a bit we can probably find something comfortable and relatively near the city center for about $225 a night, bringing the total for 4 nights to 900.

This fund will help us get around while we're in Rome on busses and taxis. It will also cover the cost of our transportation to the airport at the end of our trip.

The Roman Forum dates back to the 7th century BC. Though it is in ruins today, there are still a surprising amount of the structures left, considering how old they are!

We have two adorable cats (Socks and Boots), who will need to be taken care of while we're gone on our trip. This fund will help us compensate our lovely neighbors who watch them for us when we're out of town.

Even though we're waiting until May for our real honeymoon, we were strongly advised "don't go directly home after your wedding!". It will be nice to get away somewhere romantic and relaxing the day after the wedding. Our plan is to spend two nights at Pine River Ranch in Leavenworth, which is just an hour and a half from home.

We only have a handheld mixer now, and when we try to make something thicker like cookie dough, there's a smell like it's burning out... We would love a more powerful one!

We have a set of chairs with these covers in our game room... We got them (and the covers) used, and we love them, but the covers are pretty worn, and a new set would really dress up the room! (Xlarge size, bluestone color please!)

This will be such a cool introduction to Venice to take a boat from the airport to our hotel!

There are so many amazing museums in Italy, I'm sure we'll want to visit a few! This will help cover our entrance fees.

The images of the artwork in these buildings are just amazing! So many gorgeous murals, and so much history. We can't wait to see it! And a guided tour will help us learn about the history of the buildings and Vatican City.

We've been procrastinating on getting a fireproof safe for ourselves, but we probably should have one to keep things like our house title, passports, etc safe.

We love playing board games together. In fact, our first date was at a board game cafe! We have played this game with Jonathan's family, and we would love a copy of our own!

When we are able to find the time, we enjoy camping... But our current tent is due for an upgrade. We love this tent by Coleman. (4-person option in Navy Blue, please!)
