For the first few days of our honeymoon we will be staying at Chai Lai Orchid Bungalows in Chiang Mai where we will volunteer with elephants, bamboo raft along the Mae Wang river, explore hidden waterfalls and learn about Karen Hill tribe culture. We chose Chai Lai because they are a partner of Daughter’s Rising; an anti-trafficking initiative. Chai Lai’s proceeds provide housing, training and education for refugees and women at risk. Chai Lai also supports the humane treatment of elephants and mahouts.
