Our old couch has molted, and now anyone who comes into contact with it scatters its leatherette flakes and shavings to the four winds. (Thanks a lot Jennifer Furniture!) Anyway, we really like this one from World Market. We sat in it at the store. It's comfy and just the right size for our apartment.

We've heard from many people that road tripping across Portugal is the move. We definitely want to drive along the coastline between Lisbon and Cascais, which is supposedly breathtaking. We also plan to head down to the Algarve Coast. We promise to send you pictures of our journey!

Porta 4 is a tiny, family-owned eatery where everything is cooked in front of you. Squid curry, black pork cheeks, and white beans with Portuguese sausage are among the dishes that come highly recommended. Alex is dying to try this place.

Can you tells we're fatasses? There are just so many spectacular-looking restaurants in Porto we wants to try: ÉLeBê, Tapabento, A Bolina. Help us gain weight!

We love going to the theater in New York, everything from classic shows to modern productions to puppets that swear.

This place is rumored to have some of Spain's best steak (Alex's favorite) and tortilla (Kate's favorite). The Pimientos de Padron and tomato salad also looks delicioso.

We'll be in Lagos, Portgual for a few days and there are lots of restaurants we'd like to try. Mar d’Estórias, a cafe with views of the sea and a shop featuring the work of local artists, is at the top of our list. They are also known for their cocktails (hiccup).

Kate has more makeup than you could ever imagine. Seriously. Please help her keep it organized. PLEASE.

Lagos is famous for its rock formations (caves, coves, grottos, oh my!) which gnarl the coastline and enclose hidden beaches. One of the best ways to explore them is by kayak. It's illegal to go unescorted, so we'd like to take a guided tour while we're there, which also includes snorkeling, swimming, and a visit to a deserted beach.

A four-hour bike tour that takes you from downtown Lisbon to Belém with an English-speaking guide. We've heard it's great.

Lagos in southern Portugal has been called the world's most beautiful coast. We're planning to bunk at an adorable B&B there called Maria's Guest House, a ten-minute walk from the ocean. During our three-day stay, we'll sunbathe and swin, paddle through the sandy coves on kayaks, zip around town on scooters, and drive through the Algarve region, which is known for its stunning beaches and breathtaking sandstone cliffs.

OK here's the thing. One of our favorite foods in the KNOWN UNIVERSE is Ibérica de Bellota. Spain's most prized ham, it's made from an ancient breed of Iberian pigs that roam the "dehesa" pasturelands in southern and central Spain foraging exclusively on acorns (bellota means acorn). The ham is cured for 24 months and the taste is rich and wonderful. Earthy, nutty, exquisite. (It takes a dump on prosciutto.) We urge you try some when you're in Spain. (Hopefully with us!) We regularly smuggle it back to the States in our luggage, because if there's one thing that's worth the risk of being detained at the border it's Bellota. You have to let us share this with you. With some homemade pan con tomate and a nice bottle of Rioja of course.

Francesinha is a Portuguese pub sandwich native to Porto. It's to Porto what cheesesteak is to Philly. But instead of steak, it's made with cured ham, linguiça, and fresh sausage stacked between two thick slices of bread and smothered in melted cheese and a spicy, tomato and beer sauce. So.... yeah we want that. With fries. And beer.

We love to make tapas, and this would be great for serving them. Come over and have some!

Take us out to eat! (Only you won't be there.) By all accounts, the food in Portugal is a standalone reason to visit. While in Lisbon, Alex is dying to dine at the historic Clube de Jornalistas. Why? Two words: Chocolate Soup.

On our way to Portugal, we're stopping over for a few days in San Sebastián, Spain. Once a humble fishing town, San Sebastián is now a beloved seaside destination. It was also invaded by Napoleon in 1808! We're staying at the Apartamentos Igeldo located in a quaint little village on the outskirts of the city, with a kitchen, living room, two bedrooms, and stunning seaside views.

The food in San Sebastián is some of the best in Spain. Ganbara is known for its pintxos (Basque tapas). We've heard they do wonderfully creative things with fresh, wild mushrooms and serve exquisite deserts.

Last summer, we learned to surf in Far Rockaway. (Yes, you can surf in Queens.) While we're in San Sebastián, we're going to test our mettle at playa Zurriola, a popular beach for surfers of all levels (e.g., total beginners like us).

While in San Sebastián, we'd like to spend an afternoon in Bilbao, check out the Guggenheim, maybe go inside, and have a tasty lunch. Alex wants to try Nido Bilbao, which is known for its Txuleta, an enormous rib steak made from locally-grazed, Limousin beef.

We recently started learning Salsa. Yep, we're that couple now. But it's super fun and we'd like to get good. (Actually, Alex is already really good, but Kate needs a lot of work.)

We're honeymooning in Portugal and will be spending a few nights in Porto. Called "Cidade Invicta" (Unvanquished City), Porto is the country's second-largest city. It's also the namesake of port wine (which we plan to get "vanquished" on) and recipient of the 2017 European Best Destination award!. We'd love to stay in the Descobertas Boutique Hotel, which is located in the historical Ribeira district near the waterfront.

Provenance of port, Porto is legendary for its wines — and Kate loves wine more than she loves Alex. Take us on a tour of the city's best vintages and maybe we'll drunk dial you.

While we're honeymooning in Portugal, we plan on staying three night in and around Lisbon, the country's largest city and capitol. (Lisbon also happens to be the oldest city in Western Europe, predating Rome, Paris and London.) We're excited to see the 1000-year-old São Jorge Castle, listen to some Fado, and munch on Pastel de Belém, to name a few of the many amazing things this city has to offer. We'd like to stay at the HF Fenix Music, a funky, music-themed hotel with a rooftop pool.

True to form, Alex researched this obsessively and despite the somewhat silly name this carry-on has some of the highest ratings out there. Why? Well for one thing (harrumph!) several airlines have reduced the maximum size allowed for carry-on bags and now many (like the Samsonites) are too big.

What the F*CK!!??? MEAT CLAWS!!!! Who thought of these? Wes Craven? For the couple that likes to cut—nay, slash—their meat into ribbons of flesh with huge, fingernail-like blades. Someone please f**ing get me these, if only to defend myself from Kate. #MeatClaws
