Bridal shower games are a classic party addition for a reason: they give your closest family and friends an opportunity to get together, learn about you and your relationship, and have plenty of fun at the same time.

Since some of the attendees at these events are meeting for the first time, bridal shower activities are the perfect way to break the ice and keep the conversation moving. Like any other party, you want your bridal shower to be well organized and entertaining so everyone in attendance has a good time. Bridal shower games

Games are great ice-breakers at pre-wedding events like bridal showers. Whether guests are meeting for the first time or simply getting to know each other better, playing games helps bring everyone together to create lasting memories. Find something that fits you and your guests in this list of top bridal shower games. Find even more free bridal shower game printables at the end!

Bridal trivia

Some games for bridal showers are more complex than others. This one keeps things simple, yet heartfelt. It’s time to find out who knows the bride best. Hand out this trivia card to bridal shower guests and challenge them to answer questions about the bride-to-be. Some of these questions also focus on the couple and wedding, letting attendees learn more about the celebrations leading up to the big day.

All you need is a color printer and some pens to pull off this trivia game! Make sure to have your bride answer these questions ahead of time to make scoring straightforward and easy.

Bridal shower charades

Get the bridal shower games questions going with a game of classic charades with a bridal twist. This game will break the ice and get guests laughing together as someone on their team acts out a wedding-themed clue.

Split your shower into two teams and have one player from each team draw a card. Give each team two minutes to guess the clue before the other group gets an opportunity for one guess. Then, it moves onto the next round. All you’ll need after printing these charades cards is a bowl to place the clues in and a timer.

Design the dress

When it comes to funny bridal shower games, this one’s right at the top. Design a wedding dress using only toilet paper. Divide the guests into teams of two or three, and give each team a roll of toilet paper. The teams will have a limited time to create a wedding dress for one of their members using only TP, as well as any accessories like ribbons, flowers, or jewelry if you decide to provide them. The judge will award points to each team, and the team with the highest score wins a prize.

The forbidden word

Give each guest a mini clothes pin at the beginning of the party, and tell them to clip it onto their clothes. They're not allowed to say any forbidden words, like wedding, bride, groom, marriage, etc. If someone hears another guest saying one of the forbidden words, they can snatch their pin and add it to their own collection. The guest with the most pins at the end of the game wins a prize.

Love lies

Also called “Two Truths and a Lie,” this hilarious game reveals each guests’ romantic secrets and lies. Ask each guest to tell two stories about their love lives, one true and one false. The stories can be funny, embarrassing, romantic, or outrageous. The other guests will have to guess which story is true and which is false.

You can use points to determine the winner. For each story, the guests will get one point for correct guesses and lose one point for incorrect guesses. The story teller will get ten points if nobody gets the right answer. The guest with the highest score at the end of the game wins.

Guess the memory

Looking for easy-to-arrange games for a bridal shower? This one’s up there with the best. When prepping for the shower, include a little card in the invite and ask each guest to write down a memory with the bride. The bride will have to guess which memory belongs to which guest. You can also adapt this game for different themes, such as aprons, cupcakes, or anything else. The bride will have to guess who brought which item and why.

Honeymoon hijacks

Each guest writes down an outlandish item on a card, which is put into a container and shuffled. Each guest gets a card that isn't theirs and has to explain how that item would be used on a honeymoon. The bride will have to rate each explanation on a scale of 1 to 10 based on how convincing, original, and amusing it is.

Where in the world?

Dig up a handful of pictures of the couple at different locations and hang them up around the room. You can number each picture and print out a sheet of paper. Guests can write down their guesses for the location of each photo, to be cross-checked by the bride, who has the master list of the correct answers. This is one of those bridal shower games ideas that might just have you planning a vacation swiftly after!

Who's more likely to?

This bridal shower game reveals whether opposites really attract or if the soon-to-be-wed pair are a mirror image of each other. Write down a short list of scenarios, and add two columns with the pair's names. Feel free to make these as adventurous or as funny as you like. Each guest works their way through the list, guessing who the bride and groom voted for each time. The winner is the person who guesses the most correct answers.

The newlywed quiz

How well does the bride know their partner? Find out by quizzing her on personal questions that you’ve asked her partner beforehand. You’ll need to ask some questions about their relationship, like “where was your first kiss?” or “what’s her go-to restaurant starter?” Record their answers on video, and save them for the shower. At the shower, ask the bride the same questions, and see if she can match her partner’s answers. Play the video clips after each question to reveal the truth.

Mad lib vows

Create your own hilarious version of wedding vows by deleting some words from them, then filling in the blanks with random words. The host will print out traditional vows and leave spaces for nouns, verbs, and adjectives. Ask each guest for a word to fill in each blank. At the end of the party, the bride will read the vows aloud, made up of everyone's random word choices.

Famous spouses

If you're in step with celebrity trivia, you'll love this bridal shower game idea. The host writes down the names of some well-known celebrity spouses of people like Beyoncé, Michelle Obama, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kate Middleton. She then gives each guest a card with a name to tape it to their forehead without looking at it. Guests take turns asking yes-or-no questions to the others, like “Is my spouse an actor?” or “Is my spouse alive?” The others will answer the questions and give hints until the guest guesses their celebrity spouse.

Wedding advice cards

Wedding advice cards give guests the opportunity to pass along advice and best wishes to the bride and groom as they start the next chapter of their lives together. Older guests, in particular, may enjoy passing along wisdom to the future bride and groom given their wealth of knowledge and experience.

This activity is also easy to set up. Just print the advice cards, lay out some pens, and then collect and arrange the advice cards in a photo album for the bride.

Recipe cards

Recipe cards are an easy and useful bridal shower activity that has the potential to become heirlooms for the bride and groom. You never know what delicious recipe will get put in the pile and possibly be passed down for generations to come.

After downloading these recipe cards, all you need to do is set up a station with pens and a place to display the completed cards such as a recipe box. That way, the bride can easily keep track of her new recipes.

Make sure to let guests know on the invitation to come prepared with a recipe so they don’t have to think of one on the fly.

Wine tasting scorecards

Toast to your future bride with a wine tasting themed bridal shower. See, swirl, sniff, repeat as you bond with other guests over a sophisticated bridal shower game. To really stay on theme, you can even add in a wine and food pairing station so guests can snack as they sip.

Guests will sample five different wines and rate them in five categories: appearance, aroma, body, taste, and finish. The wine with the highest average among all the guests wins. Try a blind tasting and see if guests can guess which wine variety they're sampling, then reveal the winner and the wine varieties at the end!

In addition to wine scoring cards, you’ll need wine glasses, and at least five bottles of different wine brands.
