Our story began during Nikki's first week of business school, where she wasted absolutely no time in exploring her romantic options. She quickly befriended Alex, a joint business–law student, and immediately put her to work asking if she knew of any single, goofy law school boys. With little hesitation, Alex had an idea: Owen. And just like that, Owen had Nikki's number. Unfortunately, Owen did absolutely nothing with it. A few months later, fate stepped in. Owen's cousin Rachel (who was dating Nikki's high school friend, Danny) texted Owen to see if he knew Nikki. With a little nudge from his cousin, Owen finally made his move: - Owen: "Hey Nikki! This is Owen Averbuch. We are really acing this round of Jewish geography haha" - Nikki: "Hahaha for real. I gotta see what all of the hype is about haha" After two setups and being labeled “Most Compatible” on Hinge, the rest was history. The universe was clearly sending strong signals... and it was right. By the second date, Nikki and Owen were amazed by how comfortable they felt together and how closely their values and interests aligned. Two years and many trips later, Owen proposed to Nikki in Cheesman Park—a place where Owen was planning to ask Nikki to be his girlfriend... but then chickened out.
