A Note From Stanton

Hi friends! It's me, Stanton! I've had a front-row seat to James and Holly's love story since day one, and my tail’s wagging so fast it might fly right off, because my two favorite people are getting married! And who better to share their story than me! Before their very first date at CanCan Brasserie in Richmond back on August 4, 2024, James took me on a walk just to calm his nerves. When he came home that night, I'd never seen him so excited! He told me all about how much fun Holly was, and he had even confessed to Monica and Ashley that he was going to marry her. Good call, James. Since then, you’ve all been looped into this love story across Richmond, New York, Chicago, London, Belgium, Washington, and a Paris proposal. (Though apparently dogs aren't invited on transatlantic flights, which seems rude.) While my humans were away getting engaged, I stayed back in Fredericksburg with Mr. and Mrs. Maglin. They took my walking schedule VERY seriously and made me feel like family right away. (Here's a secret: James told me he was going to propose before he even asked Mr. Maglin. Shhh!) Along the way, they've passed every compatibility test in the book. Whether it's staying up until 2:00 AM fiercely battling each other in Mille Bornes (the Bird family's favorite card game which they introduced Holly to on a Florida trip), or trading sunny afternoons managing the local squirrel population on the Capitol lawn in Richmond for scouting out the coziest new coffee shops for our next chapter in Chicago. At home, I serve as the official house mascot. While James expertly whips up a GRC (Get Ready Cocktail) for Holly before they head out for a night on the town, I dance around the room to make sure everyone's in a party mood. So why Washington, D.C.? Because I am literally named after Stanton Park just a few blocks away, so obviously they did this for me! Okay, kidding aside, it's where they both held pieces of their lives individually—Holly was born here in this city, and James lived here while serving in the Marines and attending Georgetown. Now, they get to experience it together. On July 17, 2027, they're finally making it official, and I can't wait until we all share a last name! I'm especially excited to greet all of you at the welcome party! (Belly rubs accepted, treats strongly encouraged.) I've been cheering alongside them from the start, and I know you all are celebrating right along with us—made even better by the fact that Holly always has celebratory candles tucked away in her purse! Scroll down to see just how excited I am, pull out your tux for this black-tie affair, and get ready—we can't wait to see you in D.C.! Tail wags, Stanton
