Special Update for Those Who Attended in Person

We were just informed that a guest who attended both the ceremony and reception has tested positive for COVID. This person limited their contact to their party but we still needed to inform all those who attend. This person began showing mild symptoms, got tested and received their results this morning, June 26. We continue to pray for each of our guests that joined us in person and virtually. And we thank you for your continued prayers and blessings.

We’re going live on the big day! 🎬🎥

June 11, 2020

Big news! We have activated our link with EventLive. If you are unable to attend in person you will be able to be with us virtually!📱🖥💻📺 Simply go to https://live.eventlive.pro/happilytheherreras/the-wedding No code or app necessary. 🥳

Another Update

5/19/20 - COVID Update

31 days away and BOTH the ceremony and reception are a go. 🥳 Remember, we completely understand that the current situation for lack of a better word, sucks. We know that not everyone who we were able to invite will be able to or feels comfortable attending "large" gatherings. Because of that we will not be contacting those who have not returned an RSVP, we will consider your non-reply as a polite decline and we don't have to have any awkward conversations. If you RSVP'd your acceptance and will no longer be attending or need to amend your party number please message Mike or Deanna (whoever you know better) so we can update our numbers. Let us say this again...we understand and our feelings will not be hurt. Just please let us know THIS WEEK whether you WILL or WILL NOT be attending. We are currently looking into live-streaming the ceremony and possibly the reception but before we make that kind of investment we would like to have actual responses from those who will not be able to attend physically but would love to be there virtually. (As of now we have not received any direct declines.)

Update

5/7/2020 - COVID Update

Per the State of Texas mandates and the decree of Bishop Joe Vasquez of the Diocese of Austin the allowed church attendance is 25% capacity while following all social distancing protocols. For Santa Rosa this means Individuals and families will be seated in every other pew AND with 6 foot social distancing between household couples or groups.' Masks are encouraged and while hand sanitizer may be available it is advisable to bring your own. Per the number of RSVPs we have received to date we are well below capacity. We are still working with the venue for the reception and we hope to have another update very soon. We cannot state this enough...the health and safety of your family should be your number one priority. We will be getting married on June 19 believe us when we say that we understand if you cannot attend you must do what is best for your family and your situation. On another note: The couple's shower scheduled for May 16 will continue as scheduled. We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to Ashley, Jany, and Rocio for putting this together for us, And again as with the wedding we understand if you cannot to attend, you must do what is best for your family and your situation.

How did we meet? You really want to know?

This story begins in a galaxy not so far away....Texas can be considered it's own galaxy right?

One Sunday morning in the month of September of 2018 in a church's religious education building who would have thought that this would be the morning that we would finally meet after crossing paths multiple times since 2011. I was working as usual for a Sunday morning during the school year when in walks a family that I have known since 2011 (Sergio & Lisa Herrera) but they had an extra person in tow; and that person was Mike. You see Mike had wrecked his new truck and was now sans-wheels and had to rely on his uncle for a ride. We were introduced said, "Hi" and maybe just a few other words to each other but that was it for that first meeting. Well as the weeks progressed he kept coming back with his uncle and the conversations got longer. He was always so patient and waited until I got down time because it was my workday after-all. Then finally in my birthday week he asked for my contact information. It turns out that we had been in the same place at the same time for multiple times over the years but we had never actually met. I always tell people that ask how we met that it was not our time. Like it says in Ecclesiastes "There is an appointed time for everything."
